If you’re a honey fan, you defiantly know and enjoy the Big
Hunk candy bar from Annabelle’s. Big
Hunk is appropriately named because it is really just a big hunk of white taffy
infused with honey and peanuts! This delicious candy bar was used to be
produced by the Golden Nugget Candy company but was purchased by Annabelle’s in the
1970’s. There isn’t much history on the
candy bar itself but that doesn’t stop everyone from loving and enjoying it!
Sam Altshuler, the founder of Annabelle’s Candy Company,
started his candy career by making his own candy at home and selling it in
front of movie theaters and gained a small following. From there he went on to
continue his dream of making candy all through out the Great Depression and
World War II where he finally formed the corporation Annabelle’s Candy in 1950.
Not only do we have him to thank for the Big Hunk candy bar but also U-No,
Rocky Road, Abba-Zaba, and Look!
